Microsoft Teams is enhancing its functionality with a new update that allows external presenters to join Town Hall meetings via the mobile app. This exciting development will roll out starting in early September 2024.
Microsoft has announced an exciting update for Microsoft Teams, allowing external presenters to join events via the mobile app. This enhancement will be rolled out in stages starting in early September 2024, with no administrative action required.
Previously, external presenters could only participate in town halls and webinars through the Teams desktop app. With this update, they will now have the flexibility to join events using their Android or iOS devices. It is important to note that web platform access for external presenters is still not supported.
The rollout for general availability will begin in early September 2024 and is expected to be completed by mid-September 2024 for Worldwide and GCC users. For GCC High and DoD users, the rollout will start in mid-October 2024 and finish by early November 2024.
This update significantly improves accessibility and convenience for external presenters, enabling seamless participation from mobile devices. Microsoft urges organizations to inform users about this change and update relevant documentation to ensure a smooth transition.
